There is currently no shortage of content in the world of photography. Our portfolio already has plenty of photos of Lionel Messi or the Eiffel Tower. And that is precisely why we are looking for strong partners who can add to our portfolio.
In this blog article, we would like to explain what is important when applying for a partnership with IMAGO. How do you become a partner? What is IMAGO looking for?
Longevity and Regularity
IMAGO / Eibner / Memmler | La Catrina Calavera Performer for Dias de los Muertos in Mexico City.
IMAGO is looking for visual content from established photographers and agencies, as well as emerging new talent. We are interested in long-term relationships that bring out the best in all of us. For that reason, the continuous and regular delivery of content that complements our catalog is elementary. Our platform is not designed to upload a few images here and there spontaneously. Take the opportunity to inspire global editorial teams and clients every day visually.
Volume
IMAGO / Xinhua / Aurelien Morissard | The Men's 2019 Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi poses with his six Ballon d'Or trophies he won in his career during the ceremony at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, France.
As the market leader in the editorial mass image market, our database offers an extensive content portfolio. Over 800 million images and videos are available to our customers. Due to this amount of content, new partners must upload a certain volume of images at the start of the partnership. Your labeled archive, which supports your current productions from the beginning, is of elementary importance here. A particularly extensive and exclusive archive can also compensate for missing, up-to-date productions.
Metadata
IMAGO / NurPhoto / Vishal Bhatnagar | A photographer takes a photo of a macaque at the Shrine Galta Ji Temple in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India.
The use of metadata in accordance with IPTC standards is essential for a partnership. Without a precise caption for your images, customers will not be able to find them. However, it is important to ensure that the captions and keywords are formulated accurately and meaningfully. The required IPTC fields are explained in more detail below:
Caption: Description of the person depicted, as well as the name of the person depicted, location, event, date taken
Date Created: Actual date the photo was taken
Keywords: logical, coherent search terms and keyword variations (without duplication to the caption)
Headline: Headline for the image shown (without duplication to the caption)
By-Line: Name of the photographer
Copyright Notice: Name of the general author (e.g. name of the agency)
Please note that the IPTC descriptions may vary depending on the program.
Delivery Speed
IMAGO / PanoramiC / Antonin Vincent | Max Verstappen during the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix 2024 on the Marina Bay Circuit.
In the modern editorial mass image market, one thing matters above all else - speed. Especially in sports photography, your images must be available to the world as quickly as possible. Did Cristiano Ronaldo score another hat-trick? Was there a surprise winner in Formula 1? The picture editors and our customers around the globe want to capture this immediately.
A few pictures during the action are enough to give clients something to work with for their editorial coverage. If you upload your images as live as possible, they will have maximum visibility, which means more sales for you.
